Digital technology, rising consumer class, rapid urbanization, rising consumer awareness are some of the influential trends.
Next, Manikandan P.K joins the discussion. Manikandan is the Head of L&D – Equiniti India. As per his opinion, many organization’s learning and development initiatives are confusing the learners with different types of learning processes with their end number of training programs. A learner is hungry and needs to learn things quickly to move on to the next level. So, Manikandan feels that the learning path should be in the gain frame, so that quick learning can happen.
The next speaker joining the interesting discussion was Nitin Thakur, who is the Head of L&D- Jindal Stainless. He focussed on the fact that without learning it is not possible to survive. One has to continuously train people as new things are coming up. Broadening & Acceleration of Learning Initiative should be in the workflow itself. The L&D leaders should partner with the business leaders and get the learning in the mainstream strategy.
The next-in-line speaker was Ritu Malhotra, who is the Director of HRD Academy – Canon India. As per her opinion, the changes these days have been quite rapid and fast. Technology is all about the one who drives changes. If people have faith in each other, then they can be basically competent. Also, if the organizations support their people with proper tools, only then the magic happens.
Venkataraman Girish, the Head HR of Smart World & Communication –L&T Construction next joins the conversation where he brings forth the fact that there has been a constant dynamic change in the business impact throughout these years. The whole move to virtual was very hard in the beginning. People wanted to manage our regular work uninterruptedly. However, the challenge was to get people’s attention. Thus, their organization came up with engaging learning programs.
Last but not the least, Kulveer Singh, who is the Head of Talent & Organization Development of an Auto Components Manufacturing Conglomerate ends the discussion by focussing on the workplace challenges. He says that people often face challenges and do something or the other to tackle the problem. Double-loop learning says that in the first place one needs to take a step back and think about why this has happened or why it has been demanded in this way only. Probably if only then one can know the intent in the very beginning, and can start the journey to find the ROI.
As the job market is changing continuously over the passage of time, the L&D programs have always been on the lookout for numerous ways in order to engage and motivate employees in their learning journey. Empowering employees to learn can upgrade their skills can put everything in place in a particular business.
